The Padmanabhaswamy temple is a Hindu temple located in Thiruvananthapuram, the state capital of Kerala, India. The name of the city of Thiruvananthapuram in Malayalam translates to "The City of Lord Ananta",[1] referring to the deity of the Padmanabhaswamy temple. The temple is built in an intricate fusion of the Chera style and the Dravidian style of architecture, featuring high walls, and a 16th-century gopura. The principal deity Padmanabhaswamy (Vishnu) is enshrined in the "Anantha Shayana" posture, the eternal yogic sleep on the serpent Adi Shesha.

Kovalam is an internationally renowned beach with three adjacent crescent beaches. It has been a favourite haunt of tourists since the 1930s. A massive rocky promontory on the beach has created a beautiful bay of calm waters ideal for sea bathing. The leisure options at this beach are plenty and diverse. Sunbathing, swimming, herbal body toning massages, special cultural programmes and catamaran cruising are some of them. The tropical sun acts so fast that one can see the faint blush of coppery tan on the skin in a matter of minutes. Life on the beach begins late in the day and carries on well into the night.

Hardly few metres to the west, from our hotel, the road ends at a picturesque spot of the beach- the papanasam which literally means a place that delivers one from sins. The lotus shaped beach provides a never to be forgotten for a thousand of Hindu pilgrims all over India, who flock together on new moon days and on special occasions to perform religious rites for the purification of the souls of their dear, departed fore fathers.What a magnificient sight nature unravels here on one side the sublime heights of the cliff and on the other, the ever-chanting ocean gently washing their feet!

Thiruvallam Sree Parasurama Swami Temple is one of the most ancient temples of South India. It is situated on the banks of Karamana River near Thiruvallam, Thiruvananthapuram. It is the only temple in Kerala dedicated to Lord Parasurama. This heritage structure is placed under the list of monuments of national importance. It says that the temple was built during the 12th and 13th century, late Pandyan period. The temple is considered a protected monument by the Archaeology Department of Kerala.It is famous for Balitharpanam (a tribute to ancestors). Legend has it that Lord Parasurama is the creator of Kerala and the temple dedicated to him is considered as a holy place for his devotees.

Such serenity and awesome magnificence pervade the very atmosphere of the place that one cannot but hold communion with nature and the creator of these hills. Tha hills and the dales, the fronds and the green fields, the humming birds and the hymn chanting Sanyasis, the deepl blue sea ranging to match up the sky at the deep west horizon, all a unique scene that enervates and ennobles the soul.



Poovar is a small coastal village in the Trivandrum district of Kerala state, South India. This village is almost at the southern tip of Trivandrum .
